WESTLOCK - To celebrate Small Business Month, the Westlock & District Chamber of Commerce will host a networking lunch next week that will feature the co-founder of an entrepreneurship-focused business who was ranked a “Top 20 Speaker” in 2017 by the renowned magazine Forbes.

Influencive COO Clinton Senkow will be in the spotlight at the noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 28 lunch at the Westlock Legion — Senkow will be speaking about marketing and branding, social media, and entrepreneurial strategies for small businesses and for more on his bio see www.influencive.com/author/clinton/.

Chamber president Graeme Harrington said they’re excited to be able to bring in Senkow, who’s also a three-time Top G20 YEA Entrepreneur representing Canada, CEO of Senkow Ventures, a digital consultancy for high-growth startups, and a member of the invite-only Forbes Business Development Council.

“I have a personal connection to Clinton, we played hockey together in junior and college. I’ve known him for years and years and years — I’ve kept in contact with him and followed his career arch. He’s done very well for himself so when we, as a chamber, started talking about doing a luncheon and bringing in an outside speaker to talk about social-media marketing, digital technologies and strategies and entrepreneurship, Clinton’s name popped into my head immediately,” said Harrington.

“He a dynamic fellow and a great speaker and thankfully agreed to come out. I’m really looking forward to it.”

With all that area businesses have gone through in the last six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the talk should be enlightening, Harrington said.

“He’s a down-to-earth guy, but very enthusiastic so I think it’ll be a good talk and hopefully drum up some enthusiasm and generate lots of questions,” said Harrington.

Tickets, which includes a lunch prepared by Legion staff, are $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members — for more information visit http://www.westlockchamber.com/, e-mail Harrington directly at [email protected], the chamber at [email protected], or call 780-686-8729. There is a limited capacity at the Legion due to COVID-19 protocols so Harrington recommends getting tickets in advance.
