RCMP
The Edson RCMP issued a statement on Jan. 26 stating that a Fort Assiniboine resident is facing six additional charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation on top of the charges laid against him in December.

Six additional charges have been laid as the result of an investigation into a Fort Assiniboine resident who works as a teacher at Ecole Pine Grove School in Edson.

Previously, the man had been arrested on Dec. 7 relating to a report of sexual interference at the Grade 6-8 school, which is located in the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division.

As the result of further investigation, however, the Edson RCMP have identified an additional three victims.

The man was arrested yet again on Jan. 25 and taken before a justice of the peace.

He was released and is set to appear again in Edson Provincial Court on Feb. 7 and Barrhead Provincial Court on Feb. 14.

The release notes the investigation is ongoing and the RCMP encourages any additional victims to come forward.

If anyone has information relating to this crime, they may contact the Edson RCMP at (780) 723-8800 or their local detachment.
