Grade 3 student Isaiah Bouchier placed shoes and a stuffed animal outside the Athabasca Provincial Building May 31 in memory of 215 Indigenous children after an unmarked grave was recently discovered at a former residential school in British Columbia.
The impromptu memorial was shared on social media encouraging people to take shoes and other items down in the hope of having 215 items.Heather Stocking
