Check out this piece of a great display just west of Busby at 27512 Highway 651. We invite any one and every one in the Town & Country region, to send your address and a photo to [email protected], and we'll add another flicker of light to our regional map.

Want to bring a little sense of normalcy back to the holiday season amidst the COVID-19 pandemic?

A fun and family-friendly tour of your community, or if your feeling extremely ambitious, the whole region's Christmas light displays, could be a great way to spend a few hours within your family cohort in the next few weeks. There are many marvellous and sometimes mesmerizing light creations popping up across the region to help spread holiday spirit and some Christmas cheer to finish off a year that has been anything but ordinary.

The map will help locals in Barrhead, Bondiss, Jarvie and Dapp; Westlock, Grassland, Fort Assiniboine and Clyde; Boyle, Neerlandia, Athabasca and Busby; Rochester, Fawcett, Manola, Dunstable find the candy canes and silver lanes providing that certain Christmas glow across the region by featuring locations with holiday yard displays of all sizes.

Residents in those locations and all points in between are encouraged to submit a picture of their seasonal light creation to [email protected], along with an address, and we'll add it to our growing list of sights to see in the region of T&C. We do ask residents submit their own homes, so as to gain consent to post their location on the map. If your neighbour has spent a lot of time and effort to light up the December nights, let them know to let us know.

It may be a darker holiday than usual after an extraordinary year of sacrifice for everyone. This is just a way to provide a couple positive points of light, so we hope you'll take part. Imagine if just 20 per cent of the properties decorated, both urban and rural, were pointed out on the map. Imagine if there was more.

What a tour that would be!

We've had some, but it hasn't quite caught on yet, so we're waiting on a few more submissions before the map goes live.

So, once again, send a picture of your display, along with where the Christmas light tourists can find it to [email protected] and help brighten up the season for one and all.
