Neerlandia antique tractor pull goes ahead on July 3

Hamlet also held scaled-down Canada Day celebration

A small but enthusiastic crowd turned out on July 3 for the Neerlandia Antique Tractor Pull, which was hosted in a field about a stone’s throw away from the Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church.

The event was originally supposed to be held on Canada Day but it was delayed due to the blistering heat; the weather on Saturday was still hot but temperatures had fallen slightly and there was a slight wind to cool folks down. There were a large number of tractors entered in the tractor pull, some coming from quite a distance away.

It's worth noting that while the tractor pull was moved, the Neerlandia Sports Committe still held a few events on Canada Day, including a concession at the hamlet's old service centre and a few races at the community's new outdoor sports pad.
