WESTLOCK - RCMP remain tight-lipped as they continue to investigate a June homicide in Westlock.
Westlock RCMP Staff Sgt. Al Baird said Sept. 23 that the investigation remains open, but offered no further updates.
At 10:30 a.m. June 9, Westlock RCMP received a call that a body had been found in the front lobby of one of the Westlock Estates buildings at 10540-103 Street. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called in to assist and were seen interviewing residents, while a canine team was also spotted searching the neighbourhood.
After an autopsy was conducted June 11 by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton, RCMP confirmed the death was a homicide.
Police have identified the man, although his name hasn’t been released.
