BARRHEAD- It looks like the mystery of a missing Barrhead man has come to a sad end.
According to an RCMP media release, on Feb. 10 at about 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of human remains found in a wide-open area in the Town of Barrhead.
The remains have been identified as those of Shawn Michael Prodaniuk.
Police do not believe the cause of death to be suspicious, but that will not be determined until the Edmonton Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completes their autopsy.
Police have identified the next of kin. No further updates are expected
Prodaniuk was reported missing on Dec. 25, during the middle of an extreme cold weather patch. He had been last seen leaving his home two days prior.
