Tom Bowzaylo had never seen anything like it in his 84 years, so when the massive wasp’s nest hanging high in one of the trees at his farm southeast of Athabasca caught his eye last week, he had to look again. The little stingers had obviously been busy all summer building their grey paper home to the size of … well, take a look at the picture, it’s probably the biggest one of those you’ve ever seen. Bowzaylo was able to get rid of the pesky insects and recover the nest in tact with the help of some family members and a little bit of farmers’ ingenuity. That’s quite a keepsake for 2020.
