WESTLOCK — The Westlock area has recorded one new COVID-19 case over the weekend.
There are 14 active cases of 167 recorded since the start of the pandemic. One person has died, a 90-year-old man at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre, and 152 others have recovered.
The area includes the Town of Westlock, Westlock County and the Village of Clyde.
The outbreak at the Continuing Care Centre is still ongoing.
The province has administered 99,947 doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines as of yesterday.
In Alberta, 1,036 new cases were reported this weekend — 463 today out of 10,237 tests and 573 yesterday out of 10,894 tests. The positivity rate continues to hover around five per cent—4.4 per cent today and 5.4 per cent yesterday. There are 9,511 active cases in the province.
Thirty-seven more people have died — 24 announced today and 13 yesterday — which brings the death toll in Alberta to 1,549. Hospitalizations sit at 652, with 111 of them in ICU.
