The Boyle Blazers bantam hockey team played host to their annual tournament last weekend, but they didn’t let their visitors have much fun.

The team was dominant over the weekend, winning all four of their games on the way to the championship.

In their first game on Saturday, they dropped Edmonton’s KC Sabres by a score of 8-4, and followed that up with a 5-4 victory over the North Seera Bears.

On Sunday morning, they won their final game of the round robin 5-1 over the Whitemud West Warriors to secure their spot in the final. There they would have a rematch with the Sabres.

In that game, the Boyle offense continued to fire on all cylinders, and once again they beat the Sabres by an 8-4 score.

Dallas Jackson led the way for the Blazers with a hat trick in the final. Alex Antal and Jordan Sawka both scored twice and Mason Joe added a single marker.

Mason Gauthier held the fort in net for the Blazers.

Head coach Mark Kilar couldn’t have asked for more from his team on the weekend.

“They played really good,” he said, noting that the team didn’t know what to expect from the visitors. They had asked for Tier One teams to sign up for the tournament, and have moved up to that tier in their league.

“We want more competition than we had last year. Our goal is to play tough teams to get ready for provincials.”

The Blazers will host Cold Lake for a pair of games this weekend.
