A pair of rodeos are coming up, with the Boyle and District Agricultural Society set to hold the annual Boyle Rodeo July 20-22, while the Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement (BLMS) to hold their open rodeo Aug. 25-26.

Boyle rodeo organizer Sarah Edwards said this year's rodeo will cost $10 per admission, and will have a full range of events, including bull riding, steer roping, timed events, as well as some rough stock.

She added there will also be free camping, a horseshoe tournament, a farmers market, a mechanical bull, as well as children's activities like a petting zoo, a bouncy castle, and some wagon rides.

Deana Auger from the BMLS's recreation committee said the rodeo at the settlement has run for more than 30 years, and usually gets between 300 to 400 people in attendance.

Besides the usual rodeo activities, Auger said they also run a slow pitch ball tournament, with about 10 teams usually taking part.

Auger added the recreational grounds provides lots of amenities, including ball diamonds, a soccer field, and some camping stalls.
