ANDREA MARSHALL BURKE
April 10, 1940 - April 22, 2022
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend ANDREA BURKE on April 22, 2022. Andrea leaves behind her daughter Kelly (Corey) Newman and her sons Colin and Jessie and step-children Noah, Nathan and Amanda; son Richard (aka Ivan) (Tennille) and close friend Cathy Nider.
Andrea was predeceased by her husband Charles Richard (Jerry) Burke and daughter June Burke.
Andrea was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and started her nursing career at the age of 16 when her mother passed away. She came to see her sister in Canada and found the love of her life when she met Jerry Burke. They raised their three children in the Dapp area then moved to Salt Spring Island but eventually returned to Westlock. Andrea loved helping others and volunteered many hours at the Food Bank and Long Term Care. She was feisty and wore hats with flair!
We’re going to miss her big smile, her sass (and she had lots of it!) and her enjoyment of people and of life.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Coma and all the staff at Westlock Long Term Care and the Westlock Hospital. Your caring and support of Andrea, and her family, will always be remembered.
At Andrea’s request no service will be held.
