As well as numerous friends he met over the years.
Kai was predeceased by his wife Alice of 59 yrs in 2014.
Kai was born Mar 23rd, 1929 in Svendborg, Denmark. He arrived in Canada in 1953 after a two year stay in Norway. Upon arrival, he worked building houses in Edmonton where he met his bride, Alice and married August 15th, 1955. He arrived in Westlock in 1959 and purchased his quarter section in 1961. He switched jobs to Alberta Wheat pool and then to the School Division, again performing carpentry work. Kai eventually went farming full time in 1966. He raised his family over the years and retired from farming in 1992.
Kai joined the Masonic lodge which presented numerous social gatherings. Many friends from different walks of life came together monthly resulting in much jovial bantering.
This is when Kai discovered his great interest in having town coffee with acquaintances over the years. Many great friends came and passed on during the years of coffee in town. Many days saw two trips to town for coffee. It was this social interaction that kept his interest in farming and the community.
