Louis Gerson Da Costa
October 19,1925 - March 25, 2024
Louis Da Costa of St. Albert passed away on March 25, 2024 at the age of 98.
Louis was born in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa and moved with his family from Kampala Uganda in 1966 to Athabasca, Alberta. Athabasca was their home for 47 years. He was a teacher in Uganda and Athabasca for a total of 40 years. He was extremely proud of his association with the staff and students of Edwin Parr Composite High School and the many friends he made along the way.
Louis was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Gladys, in 2016 and is survived by his son Darryl (Lory); daughters: Gillian and Karen (Blaine); 5 grandchildren: Loni (Matt), Kelsi (Shaun), Curtis (Jessica), Kendal and Victoria. 6 great-grandchildren: Scarlet, Haley, Holly, William, Austin, Daniel and a great-granddaughter on the way (Loni/Matt); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Louis will be dearly missed by his loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Ave, St. Albert, Alberta and streamed on line through the funeral home at www.trinityfuneralhome.ca
