Helen Shirley Fielding Oliver
Helen Oliver was born on March 27, 1932, and passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025, at age 93.
Helen started her journey with her parents, Alma & William “Bill” Oickle, in Cherryfield, Nova Scotia. She then made her way to Alberta and found her dear husband, Mickey Oliver. They married in 1991 in Niagara Falls, New York. The couple lived very happily in the Perryvale/Rochester community for 34 years of marriage. Helen was a lovely lady that shared everything she had. She raised five children, some grandchildren, and many friends. Her heart was always giving, and the door was always open at the Oliver home for coffee and pie.
She is survived by her husband, Mickey Oliver; children, Johnny Fielding, Gerry Fielding, Roger Fielding (Shamira), Todd Fielding (Patti); stepfamily, Shirley Cox (Bill), Karen McBurnie, Robert Oliver (Vicki), Cecil Oliver (Tracy), Michael Oliver, many loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren, along with many special friends.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Alma and William Oickle, brother, Basil, and baby sister, Elsie; stepsiblings, Morris (Annie) Fleet, Beatrice (Bruce) Carter; and daughter, Francis “Franny” Brodziak.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Rochester Community Hall, Rochester, AB.
A viewing will take place at 12:00 pm, service at 1:00 pm followed by interment at the Rochester Cemetery. Join the family for luncheon back at the Rochester Community Hall.
