Divera ‘Vera’ de Ruigh

On Friday, August 18, 2023, Divera ‘Vera’ de Ruigh our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 96.
She will always be remembered by her loving family Sonja Schmidt, Ian de Ruigh (Lorraine), Vera Miller (Wayne), Ingrid de Ruigh, Perry de Ruigh (Madonna) and Cathy Cowper-Smith (James); 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Vera was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Cornelius of 53 years, her oldest son Frank, brother Dirk, sister Elisabeth, son-in-law George, daughter-in-law Sandra, grandson Shane and her parents Sijtje and Pieter Koedijk.
A celebration of Vera’s life was held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Beulah Alliance Church 17504-98a Ave, Edmonton, AB at 1 pm. Visitation will be held prior to service. Interment to follow at the Westlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in memory of Vera de Ruigh to AHS Barrhead Continuing Care at 5336 59 AVE. Barrhead, AB T7N 1L2.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Barrhead Continuing Care for the care they gave mom throughout her final years. We would also like to extend a special thank you to those that were there during Vera’s final hours.Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
