GERALD GEORGE GODWIN
OCTOBER 31, 1940 – NOVEMBER 13, 2023
Gerald Godwin, better know as “Gerry”, passed away on Nov. 13, 2023 in Westlock at the age of 83 years. He was born at Fawcett, AB to Wilfred “Bill” and Susanne Godwin, youngest of 6 children.
Gerry was raised in Fawcett and lived with his parents in Fawcett. He worked in the seismic field with his brother, Larry. He spent some years working at the seed cleaning plant in Westlock and later on towards retirement he worked at a peat moss plant at Athabasca, AB which he enjoyed doing. He retired for a short time at Fawcett then moved to Westlock and resided at Parkview Place till his passing.
Gerry was a quiet, kind and generous person. He never hesitated to help out family, friends or neighbors. He enjoyed walking, weather & health permitted, the perimeter of Westlock every day. Another past time was to have a beer or two and watch an Oilers game.
Gerry leaves memories to his nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends especially the ones at Parkview Place. He was predeceased by his parents; 3 sisters – Kay, Theresa and Marlene and 2 brothers – Larry and Jim; 3 brother-in-laws – Joe Lebeau, John Gorsar and Phil Melin and 2 sister-in-laws Delima and Elva.
At Gerry’s request he will be buried at Fawcett with no service.
