With great sadness, the family of Phyllis Rose Hardy announce her passing on August 03, 2022. Phyllis passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Westlock Healthcare Centre. She was 84 years old.

Phyliis was born on September 02, 1937 at Mrs. Boyd’s nursing residence in Fawcett, Alberta, she was raised in the Dapp and Jarvie area.

Together with her husband Dennis Cole she had 5 children: Susan (Larry) Booth, Joan (Bill) Ritchie, Alfred (Kim) Cole and Brian (Cheryl) Brandie.

Phyllis’s grandchildren were her pride and joy, she leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Lee (Raina), Paul (Lee), Curtis, Steven (Allison), Braylyn (Kevin), Aleaha (Jordan) Bradley (Ashley), Lisa (Chase) and Lorena.

Phyllis was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren: Claire, Bailey, Kyra, Kaitlyn, Jeremy, Jacob, Cohen, and Hudson.

Along with her career as a hardworking Mother,Phyllis worked at Beaverdam Lodge in Calgary and also went to school and graduated with her Childcare Certificate in 1996 and worked in a daycare.

Phyllis’s family is extremely grateful for the kind and compassionate care that she has received over the past few years. We would like to thank Mom’s wonderful AHS Homecare team, amazing Pembina and Smithfield lodge staff, outstanding WHHC emergency staff and also the incredible, helpful and caring staff on the east wing that cared for Mom in her final days. Each one of you made a difference in Mom’s life, even in these challenging times. A heartfelt thank you from us all.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Lorena Hardy, sister Pearl Fillion, brother Mervyn Hardy, husband Dennis Cole, husband Alexander Klaus, loving partner Ben Boutin, and son-in-law Ron Brown.

At her request no formal service will be held for Phyllis. A small private memorial will be held at a later date.
