Edwin Hoyne
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Hoyne, with his family by his side, on January 10, 2021 at the age of 72.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Helen Banks (Jim) of Hinton, AB and Janina Hoyne (Dennis Frewin) of Oliver BC, his niece Kimberley Tew, her husband Ryan and their children Eilidh & Ronan of Hinton, AB, and his nephew Christopher Banks (Malise) of Australia, as well as nieces, many cousins, aunts, and other extended family in Barrhead, Canada, and Poland.
He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Edna Hoyne.
Ed was a kind, gentle, and funny soul. He spent most of his life working on the farm and raising cattle in the Barrhead area, as well as working for hauling companies, and bartending special events. He loved travelling to Cuba with his friends where he enjoyed the warm weather and rum.
The family thanks all of the nurses, doctors, caregivers, and staff at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre, Shepherd’s Care in Barrhead, and Hillcrest Lodge who took such wonderful care of Ed. He enjoyed sharing his laughter with you all.
Donations gratefully accepted in Ed’s memory to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, Parkinson’s Association of Alberta, and the Canadian Hemachromatosis Society.
