LINSLEY, David George

December 27, 1942 – June 20, 2023

David passed away at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton very peacefully, after a brief illness.

David loved to camp and sing around the campfire with family and friends. He liked to cook gourmet meals and baking. He also enjoyed his many trips to the Legion. Early on, he was president, secretary and also did the meat draw for some time. He had many friends there, loved meeting with them and talking over things. He also helped organize the Christmas Party in the lounge that was always well attended. Dave worked on the Honors and Awards Committee which was a tedious job, he delivered wreaths and poppies to businesses for Remembrance Day. His presence will be missed by many Legion members. There will be a Legion Tribute to Dave as he was a veteran and member for many years.

Dave is survived by his twin sister Marjorie Steele (Adolph), his three daughters, Christine (Darren) Schultz, Cat (Dallas) Strauss and Kerry (David) Schultz; his 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Vivian Linsley, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Linsley, his nephew Patrick Steele and great nephew David Steele, his three brothers, Walter (Joan), William (Evelyn) and Herb.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Westlock Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Burk officiating from the Church of the Nazarene. Donations gratefully accepted to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta or to the Westlock Royal Canadian Legion Br. 97 in Dave name.
