MATTICE - ALBERTA
December 6, 1935 - October 22, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Alberta Mattice, of Penticton/Summerland, BC/Fawcett, AB, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 66 years Earl, daughters Michelle (Wayne) Cannard, Melanie (Marty) Gale, granddaughter, Eden (Mike) Valentine, grandson Caylan Gale, a sister Marjorie (Royce) Mattice, and sister-in-law Linda Rockwell.
She was predeceased by her parents Bud and Nellie Rockwell and her brother Jim Rockwell.
Alberta was an elementary teacher and Vice Principal at Fawcett school, and many children from the Fawcett and Flatbush area have fond memories of her as their teacher. She also found time to be the Brownie and Girl Guide Leader. Early retirement took them to the Okanagan where she helped as a substitute teacher. Being very artistic Alberta enjoyed drawing, painting, ceramics and sewing which led to her becoming an avid quilter. Gardening and playing cards were other passions. Alberta and Earl enjoyed world travel and their annual fishing trip from Kitimat up the Douglas Channel.
"A long life, well lived!" Forever in our hearts! Today, she dances with angels!
A private family internment being held November 9th, in Summerland, BC.
Remembering her in your thoughts and prayers at this very sad time is all the family is asking.
