N. Gunnar, late of Barrhead, AB passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019, at the age of 90 years old. Gunnar is survived by his partner and best friend, Galah Harris, along with his children; Gloria (Bob) Tomm, Daryl (Veronica), Marcia (Wayne) Detert and Tracy (Neil) Meunier; daughter-in-law, Linda Lindquist; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard; brother-in-law, Doug Gibb; Galah’s children; Jim (Charlene) and Kelly (Kim) Kalmbach. Gunnar is predeceased by his wife, Betty (nee Gibb); son, Laurie; daughter, Melba; father, Carl and mother, Ellen; sister, Doris and many in-laws. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 1 p.m. from the Barrhead United Church with Rev. David Pype officiating. The family would like to thank the staff’s at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre and Shepherds Care for the excellent care and compassion given to Gunnar during the past 16 months. Memorial donations in Gunnar’s name may be made to Mellowdale Community Cemetery or AHS Barrhead Healthcare Centre Equipment Fund.
