Elsie Helen Oskoboiny (nee Black) of Mayerthorpe, AB was called Home by her Creator at the age of 91 years on Sunday, August 9, 2020. Elsie was born
December 13, 1928, in Edmonton, AB.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2008 and previously by brothers; Mike and Tom.
Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her children; Gary of Barrhead, Elaine (Gerry) of St. Albert and Danny (Viola) of Whitecourt; eight grandchildren; Loreen (Mike), Brent (Jennifer), Bradley (Kristen), Amy, Ali, Abi (Dallas) Ana and Aury; eight great-grandchildren, brother, Alex and three sisters-in-law; Irma, Emma, and Bernie.
Elsie grew up in Mountain Park, AB where her father was a coal miner for many years. She was passionate about gardening, cooking, family photographs, entertaining, coffee with friends, reading and writing cards and letters.
A Private Family Celebration of her life was held at the Mayerthorpe Legion on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, with Pastor Ruth Lotholz officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to STARS or Hope Mission would be greatly appreciated.
