Lorraine Roy
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Ann Roy announces her passing on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 91.
Lorraine was born to the late Robert and Marie Martin on August 10, 1932, in Westlock, Alberta. She was married to the late Kenneth Roy on June 20, 1952.
Lorraine was a strong and amazing mother, a proud, caring Granny, a beloved Great Granny (OG), and a dear friend.
She is survived by her loving daughter Cheryl (Doug) Balascak, grandson Michael (Kelsey, Marcie, Lee) granddaughters Megan (Reid) and Christina (Adam, Axel, and Kai), daughter-in-law Cindy Roy, grandson Dave (Ginni, Holden and Karis), niece Jill Freidt, nephew Robert MacWhirter and the Miller, Everitt, and Hodges families. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, son Randall, her parents, sister Phyllis, and nephew Ken.
A special thank you to Dr. Keay for his amazing kindness and compassion and to Colleen, a dear friend of 60 years, who was with us right to the end, and to the staff at the Westlock hospital and Pembina Lodge for her care.
At Moms request no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to a charity of your choosing.
Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother is the greatest of them all.
