Judith Mae Schuring (nee Haarsma)
On Thursday, January 19, 2023, Judith Mae Schuring (nee Haarsma) was called home at the age of 55 after a short battle with cancer.
Judith (Judy) was born to Gary and Reta Haarsma in Edmonton, Alberta. She graduated from Edmonton Christian High School and married her high school sweetheart, Pete, in 1989. They resided in Edmonton until moving to Neerlandia with their 5 children in 2005. Judy enjoyed gardening, cooking, puzzles, playing cards, dancing, and eating a top quality steak. She was active in her community, volunteering her time to refugees, the catering committee, and leading youth groups. Some of Judy’s greatest joy came from her 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Her family and friends treasure their memories of her servant heart, humble spirit, and never-ending hospitality. She never took herself too seriously and was always ready for a laugh or a silly conversation.
Judy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Peter Schuring, her 5 children, Daniel (Carline Visser), Jenna Nanninga (Lucas), Hannah de Waal (Wes), Nathan, Elizabeth, as well as her 2 grandchildren, her parents, brothers, sisters and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 1:30pm.
