Audrey Soltys
Audrey Soltys (nee Petryshen) of Westlock, AB passed away on Feb 24, 2024 at the age of 79.
Audrey is survived by her son Edwin (Joni), granddaughters Carmen (Skye) and Katelyn, sister Eleanor (Jim), brother Don (Shirley), and sister-in-law Annie, plus numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul, her parents Stanley and Nellie, and her brother-in-law Alex.
Audrey was born September 8, 1944 in Westlock to her parents Stanley and Nellie Petryshen.
Audrey attended school in Halach, Pibroch and Westlock, and married her husband Paul in 1962. Audrey and Paul were soulmates, united together in life and business for 59 years. Together, they started a successful business, Westlock Disposal, and ran a grain farm in Tawatinaw. She also worked many years at the Westlock IGA. Audrey enjoyed gardening, dancing, travelling, bowling and volunteering in Westlock and Rochester with Paul always by her side. They shared a property at Baptiste and spent many summers fishing with Edwin, Joni, Carmen and Katelyn. She was an accomplished cook; her home-made macaroni soup and perishke are still legendary among her family. Audrey was a loving sister, mother, auntie and grandmother and spent many holidays spoiling her grandchildren with her cooking and baking.
