It is with much love, and a deep sense of sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Darwin Glen Spence at the age of 55 years. He passed away at his home in Brooks, AB due to a heart attack.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son Sterling, of Rocky Mt. House, parents Ralph and Gladys Spence of Perryvale, his three brothers, Bernard of Athabasca, children Nicole, Kyle and Colten; Barton (Crystal) and their son Hunter of Perryvale, Tyler (Carly) children Cora, Lila, and Justin of Sherwood Park, and his good friend Janette of Brooks.

Darwin was predeceased by his paternal grand parents Sterling and Frances Spence and his maternal grand parents Roy and Bessie Speers. He leaves to mourn numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins in the Spence and Speers Families, as well as many friends.

Darwin was born in Barrhead, AB and lived his younger life on the family farm in Perryvale. He graduated from Edwin Parr Highschool in Athabasca, he attended NAIT where he studied Electronic Engineering and later attended SAIT where he took Power Linesman and Millright.

Darwin worked in many countries around the world. He owned and operated a directional drilling business.

Darwin excelled in all sports such as basketball, baseball, track and field, taekwondo, downhill and water skiing, golf and motorcycles. A free-spirited man who worked hard and played hard. He had a very strong faith in the Lord and was loved dearly by all who knew him. Rest in peace Darwin. You will be remembered forever in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. Due to the current health crisis, a private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perryvale Community Hall. Darwin will be laid to rest in the Perryvale Cemetery with his other family members.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their comforting support, for the good food, phone calls, flowers and their many acts of kindness expressed to us during this time of grief.
