TYMKO, Pete

It is with profound sadness that the family of Pete Tymko announce his peaceful passing on October 10, 2022 at the age of 82 in Westlock, Alberta.

Pete is survived by his loving partner and faithful friend Adeline, his step daughters Pamela (Craig) Eveleigh, Heather (Brad) Berdan; his sisters Anne Read, Helen Zetner, Mary Prochnavy and brother John (Gloria) Tymko; many favorite nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Nellie Tymko, and his sister Stella Stefan, and all his brothers-in-law; Norm Burchett, Jim Read, Chris Zetner, Wally Prochnavy and John Stefan. Pete’s sister Rose Burchett passed a few days after.

Pete was born, schooled and later farmed in the Jarvie area for many years. During the winter months he worked in the high Arctic on the oil rigs. In 2001 he and Adeline retired from farming and enjoyed spending winters in Yuma, Arizona for 20 years. From their base in Yuma many happy visits with friends and family were spent in Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii and Alaska. Motorhome travel through most of the United States and all of Canada were very happy times, meeting new friends and attending Bluegrass festivals, Fiddle contests and all the concerts at Branson, and Nashville. Pete loved fishing with friends and just getting together for coffee. He was very kind, friendly and enjoyed socializing, stopping anywhere just to talk. He enjoyed a hearty laugh or playing a joke on anyone he could.

Upon his request, there will be no funeral, and a private interment at the Jarvie Catholic Cemetery.

We wish to thank all who helped make Pete’s last days more comfortable: Dr. Newnham, St. Albert, Dr. Benard, Dr. Mydeen, Pembina Clinic and all the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and Westlock Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westlock Hospital (Equipment Fund).
