FISHER Wayne web

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Wayne Cornelius Fisher on January 10, 2020, at the age of 70 years. Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth, and father, Cornelius Fisher. He leaves behind to mourn his death, his loving wife of 47 years, Hendrene Fisher and his 4 dear children; Tammy Tuininga, Mona (Raymond) Chittick, Brent Fisher (Krista), Greg Fisher (Nichole). Wayne also leaves behind 12 grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Amy, Alyssa, Nolan, Jenna, Colby, Autumn, Cruz, Crimson, Mya, Hudson, and Huntley. Wayne was a brother to Joe, Betty, Bernice and Janet. Wayne was born on July 4, 1949, and was raised on a farm just outside of Neerlandia, where he met Hendrene, fell in love and married her. There, they raised their 4 kids and lived in a small trailer on the family farm across the yard from Wayne’s parents. Eventually, he took over the family farm. The same homestead Wayne grew up on is the same place he raised his own children. Eventually building a house and calling it a home of their own, there they planted their seeds. Wayne had a love for the outdoors and nature. When he wasn’t hunting, he was fishing, whether it was on water or ice, he embraced every moment. He very much loved quadding, as well as boating, whether it was on the lake or the river. Wayne had a passion for woodworking, where he built and created some amazing pieces. But what he loved most in life was to do all these things with his family. Wayne’s family was his number one priority in life and he taught them everything he knew, leaving them with the tools so they could keep his memory alive in their own families. Words cannot describe the sadness we feel to continue this journey without him. Wayne will be missed each and every day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Woofs Animal Rescue (IWARS). Funeral Service was held Friday, January 17, 2020, at 1 p.m. from the Neerlandia Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Art Verboon officiating.
