WOLD, Marie Catherine
1941-2024
With much love, we announce the passing of our loving Wife and Mother, Marie Wold. Marie Catherine Wold was born on August 14, 1941 to Samuel and Katie Uhazy. She passed away peacefully on May 6th after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia.
Marie leaves to mourn her husband Ken (60th Anniversary on August 22nd) and her three children: Jana (Ted), Greg (Lil), and Stacy (Byron). Her children and grandchildren she loved a lot: Chelsea (Michael) and children Teagan, Caden and newborn baby girl Riley, Eric (Rachelle), Samuel (Maylanie), Elyse (Charlie), Ian (Katie), Anna and Maia. She will be remembered with much love by her brother Leslie (Jane) and children Kierin (Ashley) and Elizabeth. Marie always loved her in-laws and shared many good times with them: Dale (Sylvia deceased), Dianne (Brian), and Robert (Darlene). She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews.
Marie had many wonderful friends. They added gratefully to her life’s journey. She had a long career as a Registered Nurse in Killam and Barrhead. Marie enjoyed very much working with her colleagues. As an active member of the United Church Women (U.C.W.), she also enjoyed her church and church family a lot.
We appreciate the love and support of everyone, especially over these last four years. We will always be grateful for the professional care provided by the staff at the Keir Continuing Care Centre.
A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at Rose Chapel Friday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m.
