WOYNOROWSKI (LUKA), Julie

November 23, 1934 – May 27, 2021

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Julie Woynorowski on May 27, 2021 at the age of 86 years.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons Fred (Bertha), David (Donna), Mitchell (Veronica) and Jim (Janet), her grandchildren John David (Aislinn), Keith (Jennifer), Evan (Faith), Matthew (Graham), Kristen (Peter), Rachel (Ryan), Juniper, Nicholas, Jessica and great grandchildren Paige, Paisley, Walden and Oliver and her brothers Joe (Mary) and Orest (Bev) and sister Elsie Repetowski and her many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Julie was predeceased by her constant companion and loving husband of 64 years, Walter Woynorowski, her father and mother Walter and Mary Luka, brothers Alexander, Donald, Walter, Nick, Dick, Ernest, sisters Kathy, Marie, granddaughter Lianne, and great grandchildren Wyatt and Zachary.

Julie was born in Hines Creek, Alberta. She moved to Westlock and married Walter on July 12, 1953. They settled at the farm and remained active in farming alongside their family for more than 60 years.

Julie was an avid gardener, and just as she took pride in tending her garden and greenhouse, she took pride in the family she raised. She taught us that for everything there is a season and purpose, and it was her pragmatic approach to life, and steady hand that nurtured us all. She created a warm and welcoming home where she used her award-winning cooking talents to lovingly make meals that brought family and friends together. Those gatherings brought a sense of belonging, closeness and meaning for us all. Fond Christmas memories of buying candy and making gingerbread houses will always be cherished by her grandchildren, and hearty meals prepared and shared in the field will never be forgotten. Julie worked alongside her husband and boys and helped manage 4W Farms with strength and dignity. She greatly enjoyed travelling with Walter and their cherished friends, and through those years, lifelong bonds of friendship were formed. Julie was exceptionally proud of the individual successes each of her family members have achieved. Whether her family was close or far, Julie’s heart extended to all, and through her love and support, everyone flourished.

At Julie’s request there will not be a funeral service. Her wishes were to be cremated and placed with her husband Walter. A private family celebration of life will be held, and internment will follow.

The Woynorowski family would like to thank Dr. Coma, and the staff at the Westlock Hospital for the compassionate care they gave Mom during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted for the Westlock Healthcare Centre – Equipment Fund.

Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family by visiting westlockfuneralhome.com.
