Eleanor Iris Zadunayski, nee Kostyniuk
1941 - 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor Iris Zadunayski on September 22, 2020 at the age of 79.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband Wilfred, of 63 years. Sons Conrad (Paddy) of Westlock, AB, Donald (Michele) of Denver, CO, Darcy (Valerie) of Vimy, AB. Grandchildren Ashley (Moussa) of Toronto, ON, Nicole (Curtis) of Kelowna, B.C., Thomas (Taylor) of Edmonton, AB, Steven (Kendall) of Westlock, AB, Cailey of Denver, CO, Lindsay of Seattle, WA, Tanis (Byron) of Vimy, AB, Taryn (Tristen) of Westlock, AB, Tyler (Cayden) of Vimy, AB, and Hayden of Vimy, AB. Greatgrandchildren Sophia and Kai. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Paul and Barbara, brothers Bill, Henry, and Danny, sister Jean, and her beloved daughter Monica.
Eleanor was born at Lake Bellevue, Alberta. She was dedicated to her family and loved all her visits and phone calls. All her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Eleanor was an amazing cook. She made many wonderful Ukrainian dishes and shared her recipes in a handwritten book for each of her children and grandchildren. Eleanor also wrote and published a history book of the Kostyniuk and Zadunayski families. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, knitting, crafts, and keeping us entertained with her life advice.
