Board should lead, not follow

Dear Editor, Let me get this straight. The school board goes to a Bullying Conference. One of the board members agrees to a 9 minute interview with CBC. Naturally they pick out two sound-bytes and turn it into a hate crime.

Dear Editor,

Let me get this straight. The school board goes to a Bullying Conference. One of the board members agrees to a 9 minute interview with CBC. Naturally they pick out two sound-bytes and turn it into a hate crime. One would think the rest of the board would go to their comrades side, but oh no. Knowing he was taken out of context they ganged up and did the very thing they weren’t going to tolerate in the schools. They bullied him to protect themselves.

If this board is prepared to sacrifice one of its own just to appease some special interest group, then I have one question. If the gay, lesbian agenda is the one nail you want to hang your hat on, how do you propose we keep our schools full of students?

As a board you were elected to lead, not follow. An elementary teacher I had would have this to say, shame on you.

Thank you, Bill DeGroot
