Driving safe a must during winter

It seems inevitable. Every time the weather turns and winter begins, car crashes, collisions, rollovers and other incidents become far more commonplace.

It seems inevitable. Every time the weather turns and winter begins, car crashes, collisions, rollovers and other incidents become far more commonplace.

Whether we don’t respect the conditions or just think our driving is good enough to save us should the worst occur, we can’t seem to shake this vicious cycle.

Evidence of that was available this past weekend as a handful of incidents injured or killed drivers, or simply caused destruction.

Last Wednesday, a 60-year-old man was involved in a collision and is still in critical condition. Boyle RCMP responded to a pair of fatal incidents on the weekend, and both of the deceased were not wearing their seatbelts. In Athabasca on Friday, a car hopped the curb and ran into a house.

Drivers simply must be more careful in order to keep everybody safe this winter.
