Dear Editor and the Town of Barrhead,
I’m writing to praise Barrhead and its many choral groups. Last night I attended the Festival of Choirs at the United Church and it was a delight to the ears, mind, and soul.
We all can get caught up very easily in the materialistic aspects of the Christmas season and the stresses both financially and emotionally at times. I am an offender, just this week I told my boss how stressed I was trying to find a gift for my sister who has everything and my dad who wants nothing but his girls at home for Christmas. Last night’s music and energy renewed my love of the season, with songs about the Three Wisemen, Good King Wenceslas, and baby Jesus in a manger and not about Santa, Frosty, or Reindeers. Thank you Barrhead for helping me remember ‘the reason for the season.’ I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
