Foreign worker becomes resident of Canada

Dear Editor, My name is Fernando Chavez and for the past 7 years I have been a foreign worker residing in Alberta. This has been a wonderful opportunity, but I had a dream.

Dear Editor,

My name is Fernando Chavez and for the past 7 years I have been a foreign worker residing in Alberta. This has been a wonderful opportunity, but I had a dream. I imagined being a part of a country where corruption is not the norm, where police officers do not empty my wallet and drug cartels won’t kidnap my children if I show prosperity.

During my time here, I have seen my share of hardships and adversities but I never lost hope.

Recently I received the most amazing news! I have been accepted as a permanent resident under the Alberta Provincial Nominee program. I can now work where I want and fully participate in the Canadian culture.

I would like to personally thank the Right Honorable Rob Merrifield, the Right Honorable Maureen Kubinec and Premier Jim Prentice for their support of the nominee program.

I will never forget this act of kindness and all I can do is promise to be the best Albertan and Canadian I can be.

Thank you, Fernando Chavez
