Dear Editor,
Being bullied is not something new. It has gone on for centuries.
At Christmas, we think of Rudolph who was laughed at and scorned. His nose was not considered normal, and to make matters worse, it was all red! He was the butt of pranks and Comet and Cupid never let him play, while Donner and Blitzen ignored him.
Santa saw what was going on. He put on his big red thinking cap and came up with a plan. Instead of making fun of Rudolf’s slight deformity, he celebrated it. He designated Rudolf to be the leader of the pack.
Suddenly all the other reindeers wished they had a big nose that could light up their paths. Rudolf forgave the bullies. Forgiveness lightened the heart and suddenly Rudolf felt like flying. He was happy to be different, but in his heart, he knew he was the same.
Just one deer among deers.
