Thoughts today are not of pumpkins, candy or the fact we have to soon change our clocks.
No, it is thoughts and prayers that should go out to everyone who has been affected by violent attacks – whether it is from an attack where you live or if it is someone you may never see that is half a world away.
Violence knows no boundaries, doesn’t care how much money you make or have and it certainly doesn’t discriminate.
Therefore, it behooves all people regardless of age, race, religion, nationality or sex to extend compassion and loving kindness to the survivors of such violence as well as to those that are grieving the loss of a loved one.
It doesn’t matter how you make that expression – in person, over the phone, a text message or even through the various means of social media – just coming forward with it is enough to make a difference for the person.
Doing it will make you feel better as well, as it will make you happy knowing you made someone else’s day through a kind gesture.
And who knows, maybe that person will pass it along or even reciprocate if you ever need it.
