I'm sorry

I wish to express my sincerest apologies to anyone I offended with my comment “All hail Zombie Jesus!” in my April 10 column ‘Too little, too late.’ I want to assure everyone I had no intention of being offensive.

I wish to express my sincerest apologies to anyone I offended with my comment “All hail Zombie Jesus!” in my April 10 column ‘Too little, too late.’

I want to assure everyone I had no intention of being offensive. Instead, it was my intention to be humorous, while drawing a parallel between a person raised from the dead (a zombie) and Jesus (who did rise after being dead). Plus, with it being Easter, I felt the timing was appropriate.

Since writing that line, and having it printed, I have come across other meanings of the term that are considerably more negative than the one I had in mind. Had I discovered those meanings beforehand, I would not have even considered writing that line.

It was ultimately a mistake to have that line printed, and I do truly apologize for any hurt it may have caused. It was by no means my intention to offend anyone. It was a badly timed attempt at a joke that did not work.

It will not happen again.
