Dear Editor,
Do you really want Americanized referendum policies in Alberta or should we fool with royalty caps for added provincial income? The debate revealed, through under table back jabs, the underlying platforms of each party. It becomes plain that the Wildrose would Americanize our provincial government by privatizing both healthcare and public education to balance their budget through drastic cuts. Each time their American counterparts were brought up, Danielle’s face turned red. I wonder where her funding is coming from. South of the border?
The Liberals intend to drastically raise our taxes, which sounds familiar to their past platforms.
The NDP would attack our resources through increases to the royalty caps in place, making future investment undesirable.
So, what is the answer? The last 41 years have brought forth prosperity to our province, where we have the lowest taxes in the land and continuous growth in all industries. How would you like to pay $1.30 per litre at the pumps, as they are in Saskatchewan and Manitoba? I would like to believe that our premier, Alison Redford, has heard our unjust outcry and seen the light. I hope she has the fortitude to implement the transparencies she has foretold or this may be the end of a dynasty. Why would Albertans wish to shake the prosperity tree? Instead, we should stick to the status quo. Why change a good thing? But, the slogan is, “time for change.” I hope the PCs are listening and realize how tenuous is their reign. Now if we could only get the PCs to listen to (Raj) Sherman and listen to those doctors, we might have a better health care system. After all it’s the doctors that work in those trenches.
I sincerely hope it’s not my father’s hardnosed party anymore. Good luck to all parties.
