No scents makes sense!

Allergy season is upon us! Ah the sweet smell of spring, for some a wonderful thing, for others, it’s the opposite.

Allergy season is upon us!

Ah the sweet smell of spring, for some a wonderful thing, for others, it’s the opposite.

Allergies, who wants em?

Stuffed nose, itchy eyes, or even hives, all keeping allergy sufferers tossing and turning throughout the night just so they can wake-up even more tired than when they went to sleep.

Of course, there are drugs for allergies, but are they really all that effective? For some, they do the trick, for others, they cause drowsiness more than anything else.

The ads for these kinds of drugs are catchy, explaining in detail all of the terrible symptoms you are experiencing, promising that within just minutes all of your sinus troubles will go away. Lies, all lies. At least to some.

Pet allergies are the worst, because they last all year long. You go into your friend’s house only to find they have a furry little kitty hanging out on the couch where you are just about to sit.

Doesn’t make you want to stay very long.

For pet owners, it can feel a little hurtful for someone to tell you they can’t go beyond the boundaries of your front door simply because they get a case of the sniffles around Mr. Whiskers.

Meanwhile, the person affected by the cat hair lingering in the air is hyperventilating because their airways are cut off.

When someone says they can’t come into your home due to allergies, it’s not because they don’t want to come in, take off their shoes and have a chat, it’s because for them, being in your home is like being in small box with very little air.

There are some medications that work, for example Benadryl works wonders. For anyone suffering from an allergy it can help calm the symptoms long enough for you to seek medical attention.

At the Leader, we have a few employees who are scent sensitive, and it can be daunting for those affected when someone comes in the door wearing perfume or cologne.

There’s only so much a puffer can do, and even though we do our best to close the door for these individuals, sometimes it doesn’t make a difference.

Unless you see what it can do firsthand, someone may not know the affects perfume and other scents can have on people suffering from allergies.

Coughing fits, tightness of the throat, these are just some of the symptoms that people suffer from, and can even cause them to be hospitalized.

If there is anything that we should all learn this allergy season, it’s that not everyone can be around pets, dust, or even flowers, and no scents makes sense!
