When it comes to the future of schools in Athabasca, Aspen View is spoiled for choice.
At their meeting last week, the school board mused over five choices that will all greatly affect the future of education in Athabasca.
Though it has long been suggested that a new school must be constructed, a pair of the options considered donít require a project of that magnitude. Aspen View is considering the options of modernizing Edwin Parr Composite and building a new gym for the school.
Landing Trail Intermediate School, previously thought to be on its last legs, could also be spared with some changes and renovations.
Of course, the option of shuttering both schools and building a new, comprehensive one, perhaps at the Multiplex site, is still on the table.
A firm decision is likely a ways off, but local parents and students can be encouraged by Aspen Viewís desire to find a solution.
