Oh Boy! Snow!

Snow has fallen, and already I can see scarves pulled tightly around faces as passersby walk their dogs in what is currently considered cold.

Snow has fallen, and already I can see scarves pulled tightly around faces as passersby walk their dogs in what is currently considered cold. However, back in my hometown they are currently being blasted with snow, to the point where the town might as well be shut down.

I will admit I am glad to be here.

This winter I am looking to try some new winter activities. I have had my fair share of tumbling down hills with skiis flying by me, and I will admit, it is not my sport.

So this season I am challenging myself to try something new. When I was younger I enjoyed snowshoeing, so I will give that a go one more time.

I have never tried dog sledding, and to me it seems like the kind of sport I would enjoy. However there is a new form of dog sledding, Skijoring. It blends the sport of skiing with the loved Canadian sport of dog sledding.

That just sounds dangerous to me, but I kind of want to try it.

I have been lucky throughout my years, and as uncoordinated and klutzy as I am, I have yet to break a bone (knock on wood!).

I tried ice fishing, once. Now I am not someone who enjoys the cold, but when I caught the biggest fish of the day I was mighty proud.

So this winter why not join me in trying something a little new, who knows, you might just begin to enjoy this long chilly season!
