Patience with Riverview

Those interested in the development and beautification of the Town of Athabasca will likely breath a sigh of relief now that project partner Neil Cameron has provided some clarity on the future of Riverview Station.

The project has been in the development stages for a long time, and delays have made the wait longer than anyone had anticipated. Those driving through town couldnít miss the hole in front of Home Hardware that has been left in its current condition for many months, with no construction work ongoing or seemingly in the offing. But speaking to the Advocate recently, Cameron provided words of assurance that development on the project is continuing behind the scenes, and if all goes according to plan (which, granted, has not been the case to date with this project), construction should start in the spring with a likely completion date in the fall.

There is still no word on what tenants may eventually call the building home, though one assumes those conversations are also taking place behind closed doors.

The sooner this project is ready, the better off the community will be.
