Paying tribute

David Ross, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, Douglas James Larche; three names that have been all over the news for the past week.

David Ross, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, Douglas James Larche; three names that have been all over the news for the past week.

These three RCMP constables were shot and killed in Moncton, New Brunswick last Wednesday in an event that has shaken Canada to its core.

Although the tragic incident happened thousands of kilometers away, Canadians everywhere are mourning and sending their sympathies to the family, friends and coworkers of these three men.

Barrhead’s Rose Garden Chapel is joining their affiliate funeral homes in setting up a memorial table for the fallen RCMP members, which will include a guest book to sign.

This is a chance for the Barrhead community to offer their condolences to the families of the officers, whether it’s through a short note or simply a signature.

This shooting hits close to home for many Albertans. It wasn’t that long ago when four young Mayerthorpe RCMP officers suffered a similar fate.

Now it’s time to express sympathy to the family members who lost their loved ones, and let them know they are in the thoughts and prayers of the country.
