To the Editor:
Alberta is a province that the U.S. and foreign oil companies are cautiously observing, as Alberta does have the technology and the resources to become a first class, worldwide and powerful trade force.
As the U.S. and foreign oil companies continue to increase their oil production and exports of their oil to other countries like Canada, Alberta continues to lumber along. So why is that? Because of three big strikes!
Strike One: the federal government does not show strong support for Alberta’s oil. Why? Could it be that Prime Minister Trudeau buckles under the pressure of the U.S. and foreign oil countries, which leaves him no choice but to push the environmentalist agenda?
Does he truly believe that money grows on trees? No. He simply does not know how to deal with powerful world leaders.
Strike Two: When the NDP came into power they at first were vehemently against Alberta’s oil industry. They revealed that by supporting and funding various environmentalist groups.
Then suddenly, there appeared to be a change of heart where the NDP showed favour in building Trans Mountain Pipeline.
Or did they? Think about it. The NDP began to promote the building of the pipeline, yet they dilly-dallied to the point where it was costing Trans Mountain millions of dollars daily while waiting for the go-ahead.
When pressure came from Albertans and from Alberta oil companies to get moving, Notley then turned to the federal government to supposedly request Trudeau to get the pipeline built by overruling BC’s opposition against the pipeline.
Here too, Trudeau dilly-dallied to the point where Trans Mountain threatened to back out, prompting Trudeau to jump in to buy the pipeline. What a costly scheme to Canadian taxpayers because Notley and Trudeau did not and will never want that pipeline built.
Why? Trudeau is easily unhinged by powerful leaders, and Notley is an extreme environmentalist, all of which at the cost of the Canadian taxpayer and Alberta’s economy.
Strike Three: It starts with President Trump requesting Prime Minister Trudeau to detain Meng Wanzhou. Trudeau agreed and at the cost of the Canadian taxpayers.
Shortly thereafter China arrests two Canadians – not Americans, bans Canadian canola – not America’s, and bans Canadian pork and beef – and again not America’s! Why?
President Trump states that China and the US relationship is strong! Why? Shouldn’t China be furious with Trump’s role in Meng Wanzhou’s extradition? Why at the G20 does Trump get to speak with People’s Republic of China President Xi Jinping and not Trudeau?
Could it be that Trump would like to see American canola, pork and beef on the plates of the Chinese people?
As I watched the video of Trudeau sitting next to Xi Jinping for several minutes, not once did Trudeau make an effort to break the ice. Trudeau had an opportunity to speak with the Chinese President but blew it.
Trudeau has proven himself not being able to stand up to world powers, but is able to bully those under him, like Albertans. So, who to vote for?
