Conditions of last falls vote were not met, therefore a new vote is necessary and so it is back to the drawing board. All options need to be on the table, it is time for common sense and statesmanship to have the preeminence
Most people want and see the need of having a swimming pool, but that is where a jelling of opinion breaks down. One huge factor is the cost and how that will impact taxes. A figure more like 3 1/2 million might be acceptable to borrow and charge against the taxpayers. Taxes in Barrhead are already too high and that will be a huge factor for those contemplating a move here.
The voter will have the final say whether or not the Town Council has done their homework or not.
