Dear Editor,

Most of us enjoy the emotional satisfaction from helping others, but we should first attend to logic and consequences.

Considering the current refugees immigrating to Canada. Would it not be better if they consider the able military might of our world and establish safe zones for them in their own country? Do these immigrants not have enough dedication to the country that they were born in to stay and attempt to improve it? For security reasons these immigrants should have documentation. From that country (Syria) probably only the wealthy will have sufficient documentation. So it is probably not the starving peasants that are arriving. The current world has tens of millions of people that could be considered refugees.

What about them? Can we even afford the immigration of tens of thousands? The current “refugees” are being brought over by airplane, 150 at a time.

That cost alone would be tremendous. What will be the complete cost of this entire plan? Thanks to transfer payments, Alberta shall be funding much of this.

Our country has many people living in poverty and in near poverty, we must absolutely help them first.
