Recycling taken to the extreme

Last night (Aug. 29) was a ‘super moon’, and I guess super weird things happen during a super moon. This morning, well before dawn, the dog and I went out for a morning walk.

Last night (Aug. 29) was a ‘super moon’, and I guess super weird things happen during a super moon.

This morning, well before dawn, the dog and I went out for a morning walk. As we approached the willows along the roadside adjacent to our yard, the dog flushed some rather large critter out of the willows where it had been bedded down.

I could see it, but could not distinguish what it was. It was about 25 paces from me and appeared to be too tall for a bear, and the moaning noise that it made was not like that of a bear. I didn't think it could be a moose, because a moose would have bolted. So, having lots of time, I stood and watched to see what happened when it moved.

Eventually it did and it was then clear that it was a person; a person showing considerable evidence of having socialized rather heavily prior to the time that I found him very much alone beneath the willow brush.

We talked for a while and he had no idea where he was, but he thought that he was on his way to a wedding reception somewhere and that his girlfriend had kicked him out of the car during the night.

Now as much as I am all in favor of recycling, I do have problems with people dropping off stray dogs and cats in the country and hoping that others will look after them. However, it amazes me even more that women are now bringing the partners that they are tired of and dropping them off along the roadside for recycling.

So, I guess the message for my fellow boyfriends and husbands is that if your girlfriend or wife wants to take you for a drive in the country, toss a sleeping bag and perhaps some survival rations in the car with you before heading off. You might be due for recycling.
