This Sunday is Remembrance Day, and all who call Canada home should recognize its importance.
Canadian soldiers who have lost their lives in wars all over the world are owed a debt that can never be fully repaid. Brave men and women who sacrificed their own lives to assure the future safety and freedom of others are honoured when we wear poppies, attend Remembrance Day ceremonies and participate in silent contemplation of what we have to be thankful for in this country.
Unfortunately, war has not become a thing of the past, and with each passing year more of our soldiers are forced to risk their lives for the cause of freedom. Some come home safe, but others don’t. And as the sacrifices grow, so does our debt and gratitude.
Whether you attend a ceremony, wear a poppy or observe your own moment of silence, be sure to recognize Remembrance Day.
